This year, The Green Room Summer Shakespeare Theatre Institute is offering two types of paid internships for both college and high school students interested in working during the week of camp: Actor/Tech—This internship is open to rising high school seniors who have participated in the Summer Theatre Institute in the past. It involves working from 9am-5pm each of the camp days and working strike after the show has closed. The responsibilities include daily camp preparation, participating in the morning show, moving groups around the spaces, assisting directors, assisting to build scenery, props, and costumes, and helping with strike. Actor/techs must also audition and take on parts in the play, demonstrating good actor habits and serving as a role model for the campers. Technical Assistant— This internship is open to graduated high school students who have participated in the Summer Theatre Institute in the past. The Technical Assistant will be assigned one technical aspect of putting the show together and be responsible for making sure it happens. TA’s will be assigned to assist each small group leader or enrichment activity leader and will also be responsible for running the final production.
