Upcoming Auditions

All auditions will be held at the Old Post Office Playhouse, located at 10 South Main Avenue, Newton, NC  28658.  Please enter at the lower level door at the back of the building (on South Ashe Avenue). DO NOT PARK at the South Square parking lot that is next to the theatre.  Please use street parking or public parking lots.  
The Green Room Community Theatre encourages actors of any ethnicity, identity, and ability to audition for any role. If the script requires strict adherence to any characteristic(s), those will be listed in the specific audition details below.

The Last Round-up Of The Guacamole Queens

Show dates: June 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 2023

Tentative audition dates: April 2 & 3, 2023

Auditions for The Last Round-up Of The Guacamole Queens will be on April 2 & 3, 2023 at 7 pm.  The show is being Directed by Jeanne Laws. The auditions will take place in The Green Room’s gallery, which means you’ll enter through the front door.  
 
The Director is looking for 13 actors ages 35 to 100 (4 men & 9 women) who are ready to create lots of laughter in this season’s Southern Comedy.  All ethnicities are welcome.
 
 
COMPLETE- Hello, Dolly! (Musical)
Show Dates: September 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 2022
Audition Dates: June 20 & 21, 2022
Auditions for the musical Hello, Dolly! will be on June 20 & 21, 2022 at 7 pm.  This production will be directed by Hannah Nuhfer.
Roles, including ensemble and principles, are available for adults and youth ages 14+.  All ethnicities are welcome.
 
Please prepare a selection of a musical theatre song for your audition: about one minute long and not from Hello, Dolly! but of a similar genre.  Be prepared to dance for your audition.  Wear appropriate clothes and shoes that will help you easily move.  You only need to attend one night of auditions.
 

You must be available for all performances which are scheduled for September 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 2022 and a Producer’s night to be scheduled.  Please bring your list of rehearsal conflicts with you. You MUST be able to attend all of the tech week (the week before the show opens) unless in rare emergency cases an exception is approved before being cast by the director.

Mrs. Dolly Gallagher Levi — an indefatigable meddling matchmaker; a widow in her middle years
Mrs. Irene Molloy — a millineress with a hat shop near 14th Street in New York City
Minnie Fay — a young girl who works in Irene’s Shop
Ernestina — a single woman in need of Mrs. Levi’s services
Ermengarde — the 17-year-old niece of Horace Vandergelder
 
Horace Vandergelder — proprietor of a hay and feed store in Yonkers, NY, and a client of Mrs. Levi’s
Cornelius Hackl — Vandergelder’s chief clerk, 33 years old
Barnaby Tucker — an assistant to Cornelius, 17 years old
Ambrose Kemper — a young artist seeking to marry Ermengarde
